Workington man jailed for failing to comply with community order
 

A Workington man was jailed by a judge after failing to comply with a community order.
Carl Michael Porter, 29, of Fell View Walk, was sentenced to 42 days in prison by district judge Gerald Chalk when he appeared at West Cumbria Magistrates Court on Friday.
Porter pleaded guilty to failing to comply with the order, which was imposed after he had been found guilty of steeling red diesel and driving while disqualified.
Claire Kirkpatrick, defending, said Porter had missed the community order appointments because he had to unexpectedly look after his 7-year-old and 6-month-old children.
