MPs have voted in favour of a snap General Election on June 8.
That’s 50 days from now – 50 days of party political broadcasts, campaigners going from door to door, and enough leaflets to make an extra load of recycling.
Less than a month ago, Theresa May’s spokesman categorically denied this was a possibility, saying: ‘There isn’t going to be one. It isn’t going to happen. There is not going to be a general election.’
