Vodafone pulls out of BT contract race
 

Vodafone is understood to have withdrawn from the running to win a contract to provide mobile phone services to BT's customers.
An existing tie-up with BT’s global services division came to an end when Vodafone acquired rival fixed-line business Cable & Wireless Worldwide.
Vodafone had been in the running to win a replacement contract but its withdrawal is likely to leave Telefonica’s O2 and EE, owned by France Telecom and Deutsche Telekom, in the running for the BT deal.
