Victoria station evacuated as Piccadilly Line strike causes rush hour crush
 

Victoria station has been evacuated after becoming ‘severely overcrowded’ as a result of a 48-hour Tube strike.
Tunnels, platforms and stairwells in the station were pictured rammed with commuters who claimed to have been stuck for ‘up to 40 minutes’.
Transport for London eventually made the decision to close the station in a bid to stop further overcrowding.
The station is currently undergoing works on its escalators, so tunnels have been busier than usual for the last fortnight.
