VAR controversies cause chaos in Spurs vs Rochdale: 'Weirdest half of football ever!'



Tottenham thought they’d taken the lead inside six minutes through Heung-min Son.
But the goal was disallowed after the referee consulted VAR technology and it was ruled Fernando Llorente was judged to have pulled Harrison McGahey’s shirt in the build up to the goal.
Moments later Spurs were awarded a free-kick on the edge of the box when Kieran Trippier was pulled down by Matt Done.
However, after VAR consultation once again, referee Paul Tierney awarded a penalty kick.
