US Open: USGA abandon 18-hole Monday play-off in favour of two-hole aggregate
 

The U.S. Open will now fall into line with the other three Majors and conduct any play-off straight after regulation play and not waste time and resources with the staging of a Monday 18-hole play-off.
However, it will only be a two-hole aggregate play-off.
The USGA reports the change will be effective at the 2018 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills on New York's Long Island.
And the USGA has also decided to run the same two-hole aggregate play-off for the U.S. Women's Open, U.S. Senior Open and U.S. Senior Women's Open.
