Turf Sprint added to Breeders' Cup line-up of races as prize money for Kentucky showpiece tops $30m



A fresh opportunity for European raiders has been opened up with the announcement that the Turf Sprint has been upgraded from the undercard to become a full Breeders’ Cup race later this year.
The decision takes the number of Breeders’ Cup races to 14 to be run at this year’s meeting at Churchill Downs in Kentucky on November 2 and 3.
The Juvenile Turf Sprint at Del Mar last year was won by Aidan O’Brien-trained Declarationofpeace. The finish was dominated by European challengers who fill the first four places.
