TRAIN STRIKES: Walk-out on Northern services after row over guards
 

Train users across the North West will face disrupted journeys today as a fresh wave of strikes over the role of guards cuts services by around a half.
Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) will walk out on Monday, Wednesday and Friday on Arriva Rail North (Northern), Merseyrail, South Western Railway (SWR) and Greater Anglia, and on Monday on Southern.
Talks were held between the union and Northern but they ended without any breakthrough to the long-running row over staffing, driver-only operation and guards.
