Thomas Hepburn Academy parents accuse trust of 'failing our children' as school faces closure
 

A Gateshead school which has lost the confidence of parents could be gone by next summer.
Thomas Hepburn Academy, in Felling, could shut its doors by August 2019 under plans released by the Northern Education Trust (NET).
The NET took over running of Thomas Hepburn in 2016 as it laboured under a rating of ‘Unsatisfactory’ under the old Ofsted system.
The trust’s changes were enough to help it avoid being placed in special measures in an inspection report published in 2017, but it was still described as ‘Inadequate’.
