Street food, shopping and kindness - how these streets of Birmingham come alive after midnight during ramadan
 

It’s a little after midnight and Coventry Road is heaving with crowds celebrating one of the last nights of Ramadan with herbal tea, sugar-drenched pastries and acts of kindness.
With barely enough room to squeeze by, the bustling scene more closely resembles a Middle Eastern night market than an inner-city Birmingham suburb on a week night.
Smoke rises from neatly-assembled street side grills, wafts of incense and perfume float in the air and stalls selling clothes and trainers attract crowds three or four deep.
