So much for independent! BT interferes at Openreach despite promises cables arm would be split from group



BT Executives continued to interfere at Openreach as it drew up broadband plans despite promises the cables arm would become independent, it has been claimed.
Regulator Ofcom yesterday said it was concerned by emails which showed the telecoms giant was still involved in decision-making at its subsidiary, which manages the group's cables network. 
They revealed that a panel of BT staff saw broadband investment plans before Openreach's own board.
Openreach was split away from BT last year, after complaints from telecom rivals that rely on the Openreach network.
