Shoplifter steals 36 tubs of Christmas chocolate from Loughborough Morrisons to sell for heroin

A heroin user who managed to steal 16 large tubs of chocolates from a supermarket on one visit, went back later and stole 20 more.
Stephen Diamond told magistrates the 600g tubs, which were piled up in the foyer of Morrisons in Maxwell Drive, Loughborough , were easy to sell at this time of the year and that he needed the money for heroin because he was unable to get benefits.
He said: “I can sell ‘em easier – it’s Christmas, ain’t it?”
