Scunthorpe club with 300 members closes

A Scunthorpe licenced club with hundreds of members closed down over the weekend.
It had been trading for 20 years.
The Cundy Snooker Club, on Doncaster Road, closed on Saturday night.
Owner Jeff Cundy, who set up the 300-member club in July 1995, said today he hoped to sell the business as a going concern.
Mr Cundy, 46, blamed the closure on the fact that fewer younger people than before now play the game of snooker.
Twenty years ago the club ran 10 teams in the local snooker league, compared to only one in 2015.
The club built on the site of the town's former Pavilion Cinema.
