Saltley scrap yard fire sees 800 tonnes of recycling waste go up in flames

Fire crews are battling a huge blaze involving 800 tonnes of recycling waste at a scrap yard in Saltley.
More than 100 firefighters have been sent to the scene at the EMR recycling centre in Clarel Avenue after the fire broke out at around 2pm on Tuesday.
Smoke could be seen towering over Birmingham from around the Midlands, with sightings from as far as 20 miles away.
Debris from the fire was reported to be falling in the city centre around Colmore Row.
