Roger Federer is a doubt for French Open as he struggles with a back problem after giving up world No 2 spot to Andy Murray



Roger Federer swiftly handed back the world number two position to Andy Murray on Thursday, but that will have been the least concern for the great Swiss.
His somewhat expected defeat in the third round of the Italian Open by Dominic Thiem guaranteed the 28 year-old Scot the second seeding in the Roland Garros draw next week, even before he went out to beat France's Jeremy Chardy.
Uppermost on Federer's mind is whether he will make Paris at all, and thereby maintain his incredible run of playing in the last 65 Grand Slams.
