Rhino species on brink of extinction after last male's death
 

The subspecies of northern white rhino is on the brink of extinction after the last surving male died yesterday.
Researchers say the aged animal, Sudan, died after "complications".
A statement from the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya says the 45-year-old rhino was euthanized on Monday after his condition "worsened significantly" and he was no longer able to stand.
