Poland accused of ‘rewriting history’ with new Holocaust law
 

Poland is embroiled in a diplomatic row with Israel over a new law regarding the Holocaust.
The law, which was approved by the lower house of Poland’s parliament on Friday, would make it illegal to suggest Poland bore any responsibility for Nazi atrocities committed on its soil.
Individuals could face fines and up to three years in prison for using phrases like ‘Polish death camps’ (instead of ‘Nazi death camps’), or for suggesting that Poland was complicit in the Holocaust in any way.
