Plans put in place for the revival of Burnley Carnival

PLANS have been put in place for the return of Burnley Carnival in 2013.
The Lancashire Telegraph revealed in January that a group of people, backed by the Mayor of Burnley, Coun David Heginbotham, wanted to bring the event back to the town.
The carnival has been held in various smaller forms since its heyday in the 1960s, but it could now return as one of the biggest dates in the calendar.
A smaller event will take place this May, before the build-up to a big procession next year.
