Place of worship plan for former Melton Road police station



Plans have been drawn up to turn a former Leicester police station into a place of worship.
The old police base in Melton Road, Rushey Mead, closed more then five years ago, and has been used as offices but now plans have been drawn up to turn it into a temple.
The plan however has not proved popular with everyone in the area and there have been 20 objections to the proposals.
Among the concerns are that the temple would be noisy and, with up to 100 worshippers attending it, could create parking problems in the area, and that the building would be better as office space.
