Nine days on police still trying to solve mystery of human leg in Irwell
 

Police are waiting to see if scientists can get DNA from a human leg found in the river Irwell - to help identify who it came from.
Scientists have examined the remains and are now trying to obtain a DNA profile so it can be checked against samples from people reported missing.
The remains were found nine days ago near the red Jubilee Bridge, off Britannia Street, Salford.
Someone who was walking next to the river raised the alarm.
The North West Police Underwater Search and Marine Unit sent divers to the location to search a stretch of the river but no further remains were found. Police... read more
