New porn law which requires ID on all sites ‘is put back until later this year’
 

 
Good news, pornography (and privacy) fans: the government has quietly shelved its plan to force one-handed browsers to provide age ID from next month.
It’s still in the pipeline, though: with the Department of Culture Media and Sport saying it aims to have the system in place by the end of the year.
A DCMS spokesman said, ‘We are making age verification compulsory for commercial porn sites, as part of our work to make the internet a safer place for children.
‘But we need to take the time to make sure we get it right, and it will come into effect later this year.’
