New nursery to open in Hemssworth in memory of tragic baby girl
 

THE parents of a baby girl who died from a rare genetic disorder have achieved their fundraising target of £165,000 to open a nursery in her memory.
Laila Milly McCormack died from Aicardi syndrome in March 2011, a day before her first birthday.
Her parents Steve and Maya of Hemsworth started fundraising after Laila’s diagnosis in a bid to open a day nursery to provide care for children with serious and complex conditions.
The nursery on Kirkby Road in Hemsworth is to officially open on Sunday August 31.
