New Lidl gets go-ahead as part of £9m retail park by Beverley - despite big concerns
 

Plans for a new £9m retail park on the southern outskirts of Beverley have been given the go-ahead.
Councillors on East Riding Council's planning committee gave the scheme the go-ahead despite concerns over its potential impact on shops in the town centre.
Earmarked for a six-acre site off the main roundabout connecting Hull Road with the town's new southern by-pass, the initial phase of the development will see the construction of a new £6m Lidl supermarket and a drive-through Costa Coffee.
