Janet Davidson struck in Sneinton after she befriended her victim in the street, claiming her Nokia mobile battery was flat and needed charging.
The woman was only too happy to help and invited Davidson inside, leaving her boyfriend Lee Love to sneak in and steal her purse in her bag in the hallway.
The couple got away with £88, bank cards, a voucher and photos of the victim's two sons who died in two car accidents.
While Love was jailed for three years last month for the burglary, Davidson was told to wait until a pre-sentence report had been prepared.
