Mum 'almost knocked over' by car being chased by police that 'smashed into lamp-post'
 

A mum said she was almost knocked down by by a speeding car which crashed while being chased by police.
People living around Monfa Road and Fernhill Road, in Bootle, described seeing a heavy police presence in the area at around 12pm - with police dogs joining what appeared to be the hunt for a suspect.
The woman, who lives nearby. described seeing a car drive onto Monfa Road and hit a lamppost.
She told the ECHO: "I was walking along then a car came speeding around on Monfa Road and knocked into a lamppost, then it carried on a bit further down the road.
