MP Jess Phillips threatens to pay 'half licence fee' in BBC Carrie Gracie pay row

The BBC has been urged to “sort out” its pay problems after a journalist quit in protest at being paid less than men.
The Corporation’s China editor, Carrie Gracie, accused the broadcaster of a “secretive and illegal pay culture” after it was revealed two-thirds of its stars earning more than £150,000 were male.
Gracie wrote: “I am not asking for more money.
“I believe I am very well paid already – especially as someone working for a publicly funded organisation.
“I simply want the BBC to abide by the law and value men and women equally.”
