Belgium defender Alderweireld is demanding £150,000-a-week to sign a new deal, with his current contract up in 18 months.
But it looks increasingly likely the centre-back will be sold in the summer, especially as he turns 29 next week.
Alderweireld has played just two FA Cup games since suffering a hamstring injury at the start of November - and is a doubt for tomorrow’s trip to Crystal Palace after pulling up in training on Thursday.
