Manchester United want £18million from Roma to make Chris Smalling transfer permanent
 

Roma will have to pay Manchester United £18million if they want to keep Chris Smalling on a permanent basis.
The 29-year-old made 17 appearances under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last season but was deemed surplus to requirements following the arrival of Harry Maguire from Leicester.
Smalling, who joined United from Fulham in a £10m deal nine years ago, opted to move abroad and joined Roma on loan and has made a positive impression.
Tuttosport claims Roma want to keep the England international beyond the end of the current campaign but will have to fork out £18m to do so.
