A man set off a stun gun in front of his next door neighbour's face during a row over loud music blaring until 4am.
Stephen Sancto thrust the weapon towards Michael Dykstra after his victim confronted him over the noise during a long-running dispute.
Liverpool Crown Court heard Mr Dykstra was temporarily blinded when the weapon crackled and a blue light flashed, just inches from his face.
Sancto admitted possessing a firearm when prohibited from doing so, having received a ban after being convicted of possessing cannabis.
