Man's body found in Grand Union Canal in Leicester - police investigating



A man's body has been found in the Grand Union Canal, Leicester this morning.
Police were called to the scene at 10am and are investigating how he died.
The fire service were also called to the incident.
A police spokeswoman said: "Officers were called at 10am this morning to a report of a body in the water at Freemans Meadow Lock, in Eastern Boulevard.
"The body of a man has been recovered. Investigations into the identity of the man and the circumstances surrounding his death are in their early stages."
The police said the man's body was found by a member of the public.
