Man in River Tweed sparks emergency services alert



Emergency services were called out after a man jumped into the River Tweed at Berwick.
A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: “At about 2pm today police received a report of a man was in the River Tweed near to The Leaping Salmon pub.
“It was reported the man had jumped into the water before climbing out the water himself.
“Police and paramedics attended but the man did not need to be taken to hospital and he is now safe and well.”
