Man handed suspended jail term after telling relative 'no college, no work, no phone'



A Kurdish man hit a relative after hearing she had a boyfriend, telling her: "You can't go to college, you can't go to work, no phone."
Barham Faeq, 28, hurled her mobile away during an incident when she was left bruised and terrified inside a house in St Ann's, Nottingham Crown Court heard.
He admitted assault causing actual bodily harm to the 20-year-old on April 26 last year and must do 120 hours unpaid community work.
Judge Nigel Godsmark QC also imposed a four-month prison term but suspended it for two years.
