Madeleine McCann police apply for more money to continue £11.6m hunt
 

Scotland Yard bosses have applied for more money to continue the hunt for Madeleine McCann – which has cost £11.6m so far.
Madeleine disappeared from a holiday home in Portugal’s Algarve region in May 2007, days before her 4th birthday.
There was speculation over the future of the investigation when it emerged that funding would run out at the end of September – after UK detectives were granted an extra £150,000 in March.
But the Home Office has now confirmed that it is considering an application from the force for more cash.
