Lord Bramall, former head of British Army, dies aged 95
 

A former head of the British Army has died at the age of 95.
Field Marshal Edwin Noel Westby Bramall joined the army in May 1943, and served in Normandy during the Second World War.
During his career, he became Commander-in-Chief of British forces in Hong Kong, Commander-in-Chief of UK Land Forces and Chief of Defence Staff.
He married wife Dorothy Avril in 1949 and the pair had two children together.
Lady Bramall died after suffering from Alzheimer’s in 2015.
The couple had lived together at Bulford Manor in Wiltshire during his time as head of the army.
