London Eurostar services cancelled as three months of rail and air strikes begin in France as unions try to force Macron to back down over reforms

A third of Eurostar services between London and Paris are cancelled as three months of mass union strikes begin in France today. 
The strike is expected to be the biggest walkout in years, with half of all rail staff are expected to take part in two days of strikes in every five days until June.
France's four main rail unions are protesting President Emmanuel Macron's attempt to reform the national rail monopoly and open it up to EU competition.
Commuter lines into Paris will be hit hard and only one in eight high-speed TGVs will operate, state rail operator SNCF has said.
