Liverpool Council in new green space row as treasured community gardens are dug up and destroyed without notice
 

Liverpool City Council has become engulfed in another green space row after contractors dug up and destroyed two much-loved public gardens that have been maintained by a local community for years - without giving any notice.
Local people have said they were 'heartbroken' after the two green spaces in Prescot Road, Kensington were destroyed as part of work to resurface the road.
The council has apologised for not letting people know about the work - and promised to replace the gardens when work is completed.
