Lack of cash cripples plans for new Derby Mountain Rescue HQ



Plans for a new Derby Mountain Rescue base in Mackworth have had to be scaled back due to funding shortages.
The charity is badly in need of a new base.
Its current home in Duffield was severely flooded during last month’s heavy rainfall and valuable equipment was damaged.
It is the second time the base has been flooded and the organisation says that last month’s damage, caused by the overflowing River Derwent, meant that access was restricted “at the very time when the team’s services were in demand”.
