It was Ireland's Great Escape triggering headlines around the world. And it happened right here in Grimsby
100 years ago Lincolnshire became the temporary home of one of the leading figures in Irish rebel history, as Sinn Fein founder and future Irish Taoisigh and President, Eamon de Valera, was held in Lincoln Jail.
