House of goodwill - Inside Birmingham's only permanent night shelter

A fish supper is being neatly arranged on a square of tables as some of Birmingham's most needy and vulnerable people arrive at a converted upstairs office in Digbeth.
A murmur of conversation fills the air as they sit down for salmon croutons with volunteers at the Tabor House night shelter on Friday night. Personal possessions including books and a guitar have been left on a row of lime green beds, and there is a homely atmosphere to the evening.
