High praise for Ponteland’s bloom entry

The efforts of the Ponteland community have been praised by Britain in Bloom judges.
Two of the judging team from the Royal Horticultural Society were given a tour of the area last Friday.
As well as viewing the floral displays and environmental initiatives, including the poppy floral display on Coates Green and a bug hotel created by school pupils, John Turner of Ponteland Local History Society spoke to them about the history of the pele tower.
