Grandad looked at his cancer X-ray and saw a Cocker Spaniel staring back at him
 

When patient Peter Cavanagh first inspected his cancer X-ray he was astonished to see the features of a COCKER SPANIEL staring back at him.
The 70-year-old conquered cancer of the oesophagus three years ago but sadly was told the disease had returned and was now affecting his spine.
And as his neuro-surgeon put up the image on a light box at Walton Hospital in Liverpool, Peter and wife of 50 years Tess, had to stifle a giggle.
The image had seemingly taken the form of a cocker spaniel.
