Flat cap throwing championships at Fridaythorpe
 

The world flat cap throwing championships took place at the Fridaythorpe Family Fun Day on Sunday.
And the winning throw was 36.7m - by new World Flat Cap Throwing Champion 2014 Kurtis Thorpe.
Organised by Fridaythorpe Parish Council, the fun day is the first one held in the village since 2007 and raised a total of £104.77 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Parish council chairman Alison Spencer said the day was revived as a result of enthusiasm within the village. She said: “We thought it would be nice to have a picnic and a barbecue.”
