Firefighters praised for saving toddler Miles McBurnie for his burning home

Firefighters who helped save the life of an 18-month-old boy have been praised for their bravery.
Miles McBurnie was rescued from a blaze in his family home on Wentbridge Road in Witherwack, Sunderland, on Tuesday.
Fire crews from Marley Park, Sunderland Central and Farringdon were called to the blaze which had started in the upstairs bedroom.
The youngster was trapped in a room opposite and was rescued by Marley Park’s Blue Watch.
Miles, who had suffered smoke inhalation, was given CPR by firefighters until paramedics arrived.
