Firearm recovered from flat where Trevor Smith was shot dead by police

A firearm has been recovered from the flat where Birmingham man Trevor Smith was shot dead by police.
An Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) investigation is underway and officers have uncovered a firearm that they say is non-police issue.
Trevor Alton Smith, 52, was shot by an armed police officer at the property on Wheeleys Lane in Lee Bank  near Five Ways as part of a police operation at around 5am on March 15.
