Deontay Wilder turned down over £2million extra to fight Bermane Stiverne over Dillian Whyte
Deontay Wilder turned down £3million to fight Dillian Whyte, according to Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn.
Whyte was campaigning to replace Luis Ortiz for a November 4 title fight, but Wilder opted to rematch Bermane Stiverne rather than take on the Brit.
Hearn insisted he did all he could to make the fight between Whyte and Wilder happen, but the WBC champion was not interested.
That is despite the fact Matchroom offered Wilder over £2m more than his Stiverne’s fight purse.
