Daryl Gurney and Mensur Suljovic safely through to the second round while Paul Lim sets up encounter with two-time champion Gary Anderson



Daryl Gurney and Mensur Suljovic both made safe progress to the second round of the William Hill World Championship with victories on Monday evening at Alexandra Palace.
Northern Ireland's Gurney, the fourth seed, beat Ronny Huybrechts of Belgium 3-1, while fifth-seeded Austrian Suljovic saw off Kevin Painter, comfortably defeating the Englishman 3-0.
Suljovic, who faces Scot Robert Thornton in round two, was quoted on www.pdc.tv as saying: 'Kevin beat me before and I told him on the stage that's 1-1 now so it's a good feeling, it's brilliant.
