Crackdown on ‘super powerful’ lasers to stop idiots shining them at planes
 

A new crackdown on high-powered laser pointers will see safeguards to stop the dangerous devices entering the country, the Government announced.
Last month, the Department for Transport (DfT) announced plans to increase the sentence for people shining lasers at vehicles to up to five years.
There’s an alarmingly large number of idiots who do this: in 2016, the Civil Aviation Authority received reports of 1,258 laser incidents, with Heathrow the most frequent location.
