Councillor labels critics "brain dead" and "morons"

An under-fire councillor who branded residents "brain dead" for their comments about travellers has said he will not resign.
The Conservatives at the Town Hall have called for Councillor Barry Longden to resign from Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council.
It follows comments made in an email Cllr Longden wrote to council staff to thank them for their hard work, adding: "Please ignore the comments of the 'brain dead' and 'self opinionated', principally on social media, who have absolutely no ideas of the problems involved, or the great work you do."
