Cancer patient was devastated when her boiler broke down - but then the people of Hull stepped in

When Sally Kendall was told her boiler of 20 years had effectively packed up, she feared the worst.
Currently off work because of a battle with cancer, from which she's now in remission, Sally was unable to afford a new heating system.
However, when gas heating engineer Tom Nash, who'd visited Sally at her home in Hessle, took to Facebook to see if anyone could help, he did not anticipate the "overwhelming" response.
The Plumb Center in Hessle has donated a new boiler and Tom has been given time off work by his employers HomeServe so that he can install it next week.
