JAMES VAUGHAN struck the winner from the spot to keep Crystal Palace’s five-month home unbeaten record intact.
Palace were cheered on by their biggest crowd of the season – 19,344 – and went into the clash unbeaten in their last 12 home matches, a run going back to October 30.
Vaughan had a penalty shout turned down on 23 minutes, before Darren Ambrose made a brilliant run to put through Steffen Iversen for a header over the bar.
